Ann and Peter Shovlin live at Faraway, Lt. Thurlow Green. They came here seven years ago for work. Peter is a shipping manager at I.F.F. (International Flavours and Fragrances), a chemical factory in Haverhill. Ann works as a receptionist in the scanning department of Addenbrooke's Hospital. Peter enjoys bowls, while Ann reads and gardens. They both enjoy walks, especially fell walking, and they travel as much as funds permit.

They are very impressed with their immediate neighbours who have been extremely helpful. Lack of public transport is the only negative aspect to the village.

They have noticed the infilling, more traffic and they say that little notice is taken of the 30 m.p.h. speed limit.
